CBC Men's Basketball Wins AMC Championship

Surviving overtime in their win on March 2, CBC hosted the Spartans of Missouri Baptist University (MBU) in the American Midwest Conference (AMC) tournament championship game presented by Tandem HR. CBC (25-6) avenged A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse, dominating from the start and cruising to their third AMC title, 105-72 over the Spartans of Missouri Baptist.
Sage Borbon led the way with a career-high 26 points, and he was joined in double figures by Deshawn Corprew with 16, Kyle Harding with 15 off the bench and Wade Williams with 12 off the bench. CBC shot 56% from the field, made 13 threes and outrebounded MBU 43-42.
CBC has clinched the AMC’s lone automatic bid to the NAIA Men’s Basketball Championship Opening Round presented by Ballogy and earned a #14 seed in the Cramer Bracket and will play their first-round game against the #3 seed Pioneers of MidAmerica Nazarene. Tipoff from Olathe, Kan., on Friday, March 15, is set for 8 p.m.
CBC is the #4 seed in their bracket, which also includes LSU-Alexandria and Bethel out of Indiana joining them in Olathe. The Mustangs are 25-6 and champions of both the regular season and postseason for the AMC. MidAmerica Nazarene earned an automatic bid as regular season champions of the Heart of America Athletic Conference, while LSU-Alexandria won both the regular season and conference tournament in the Red River Athletic Conference and Bethel earned an at-large bid out of the Crossroads League, a conference that got five teams into the national bracket.
