CBC PROFILE: Board of Trustee Meeting Highlights

      The Central Baptist College Board of Trustees met May 31 and June 1. The three standing committees of the board (academic, advancement and finance) met Friday evening to conduct business and hear recommendations from the CBC Executive Leadership Team. The full board convened Saturday morning. All members of the Executive Leadership Team and the Faculty Council moderator gave reports relative to his/her areas of responsibility. Each committee secretary gave a report of his/her respective committee meeting. The Board then appointed a Nominating Committee for 2025 board officers.

      The following are some additional highlights of the board meeting:

      • Approved the following policy revisions asrecommended by the Academic Committee: Faculty Credentials Policy and Personnel Records Policy.

      • Heard an update on the Fine Arts Department Program Review.

      • Heard an update on the upcoming Higher Learning Commission accreditation visit.

      • Approved the following as recommended by the Advancement Committee: 2024-2025 Traditional Student Handbook, 2024-2025 PACE and Online Studies Student Handbook, 2024-2025 Student Athlete Handbook, 2024-2025 Guidelines for Facilities Use (External) and 2024-2025 College Facilities and Events Policy (Internal).

      • Heard an update on the 2024 Scholarship Gala.

      • Heard an update on the Office of Church Relations.

      • Heard an update on public relations efforts.

      • Heard an update on fall student housing.

      • Heard an update on fall enrollment.

      • Approved the following as recommended by the Finance Committee: Projected Year-End Financials and Proposed Current Fund Budget for 2025-2026.
