CBC PROFILE: Thank You, BMA of Arkansas Churches

Terry Kimbrow

We are humbled and grateful to all the churches who participated in CBC Day, our special emphasis, which launched Sept. 8. We were blessed with 88 churches who registered and participated this year by designating a part of their services to fervently pray for current students, future students, faculty, staff, administration and alumni. Some churches heard testimonies from current students and graduates. President Kimbrow was privileged to share with his home church, Antioch Baptist Church in Conway, and show the latest video of gratitude. In addition, Executive Vice President Dr. Jeremy Langley preached at his home church, Brister Baptist Church in Emerson, for their CBC Day, which was designated for Sept. 15 to fit their schedule better.

We have been blessed to receive inspirational comments from participating churches. Jesse Hales, pastor of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Plumerville, shared, “As a church, we see all the many wonderful things CBC is doing to glorify God and grow His kingdom, and, of course, we want to support that any chance we get. As a BMA church, supporting CBC becomes even more of a ‘no-brainer.’ What has come as a surprise to me is seeing God use CBC to pour that support and blessing back into our church in ways I never expected. Our plans for celebrating CBC Day at our church were simply to remind our people what CBC is and why we support them. What happened, though, when the CBC Singers and Bro. Guyton showed up for the service is that our people were challenged in their faith, encouraged in their walk and inspired to a deeper level of commitment. God has been dealing with some of our people about His calling in their lives, and God used CBC Day to propel them forward in that. With some of our students now looking to CBC as a viable option and men responding to God’s calling, that one decision to celebrate CBC Day at our church seems like a much bigger ‘no-brainer’ than I ever thought.”

If your congregation could not participate on Sept. 8, please consider registering for any upcoming Sunday through our website at cbc.edu/cbcday. You can retrieve more information and access the video to share with your congregation by visiting this site.

The Apostle Paul understood the value of God’s people praying for him and his ministry. In his second letter to the church in Corinth, he wrote, “You also must help us by prayer, so that many will give thanks on our behalf for the blessing granted us through the prayers of many” (II Cor. 1:11 ESV).

To all the people and churches who support CBC, we want to say thank you once again. Please continue to pray for us as we continue into this academic year, striving to glorify God and make His name known.
