Women’s Soccer
• Pine Bluff, Aug. 23 — Playing in-state for the first time this season, CBC was at the Pumphrey Soccer Complex for a meeting with the Golden Lions of the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff. CBC (0-1-1) put two shots toward the net, but couldn’t break through as they fell to UAPB (2-0) by a score of 3-0.
• Moore, Okla., Aug. 27 — Playing in their third straight road contest to start the season, CBC was on the road for a contest against the Saints of Randall University. CBC (1-1-1) scored three times and held off a late charge from RU (0-1) to earn their first win by a final of 3-2. Samara Hernandez had a brace once again while Erica Hawkins chipped in with her first goal of the season, which put CBC ahead, 1-0, in the 34th minute. Ashley Hultquist assisted on Hawkins’ goal while Vitoria Loiola, who scored in the opener, assisted Hernandez on her first goal, which made the score 2-0 in the 37th minute. The second goal by Hernandez was unassisted.
Men’s Soccer
• Moore, Okla., Aug. 27 — Playing for the second straight Saturday on the road, CBC took on the Saints of Randall University. CBC (2-0) jumped out to a 4-1 lead early and never looked back, dispatching RU (0-1) by a score of 4-2. Daniel Mondragon scored twice and had an assist while Daniel Pinkney scored a penalty and Joe McElhinney netted a goal for the first time this season. Pinkney also had two assists in the contest and CBC also got assists from Andrea Migliozzi and the returning assist leader from last season, Callum Bisset.
