Men’s Basketball
• Conway, Feb. 8 — Beginning a stretch of four straight American Midwest Conference (AMC) games at Reddin Fieldhouse, CBC hosted the Scots of Lyon College. In a game that featured 13 ties and 16 lead changes, CBC (11-13, 7-5 AMC) finally won out, going a perfect 5-5 from the floor in overtime to beat Lyon (8-17, 3-10 AMC) 84-78 in the extra period. James Moore nearly had a triple-double with 18 points, 13 rebounds and a single-game program record 9 blocked shots.
• Conway, Feb. 10 — Coming off a thrilling overtime victory, CBC hosted the Owls of William Woods at Reddin Fieldhouse in an AMC clash. CBC (12-13, 8-5 AMC) fought hard, leading at halftime and holding on for a 69-66 win over WWU (15-12, 9-4 AMC).
• Conway, Feb. 13 — Welcoming the AMC champions into Reddin Fieldhouse, CBC hosted the Spartans of Missouri Baptist (MBU). CBC (13-13, 9-5 AMC) ended the nation’s longest current winning streak by dominating the second half to beat MBU (21-5, 14-1 AMC) 73-57.
Women’s Basketball
• Conway, Feb. 8 — Beginning a stretch of four of the next five games at Reddin Fieldhouse, CBC hosted the Scots of Lyon College in an AMC tilt. CBC (12-11, 4-9 AMC) led at halftime, but couldn’t hang onto the lead, falling 56-44 to Lyon (21-4, 13-1 AMC).
• Conway, Feb. 10 — Looking to rebound from a loss, CBC hosted the Owls of William Woods University at A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse. CBC (12-12, 4-10 AMC) led for three quarters, but was outscored 22-8 in the fourth to fall 55-48 to William Woods (9-16, 6-9 AMC).
• Conway, Feb. 13 — Aminata Seck set or tied two rebounding records as CBC hosted the Missouri Baptist Spartans (MBU) in an AMC contest in A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse. CBC (12-13, 4-11 AMC) trailed by 16 after one quarter but forced overtime, ultimately falling 72-67 to MBU (15-11, 12-4 AMC). Seck tied the single non-exhibition game rebounding record, grabbing 18 on the day, with 7 of those rebounds on the offensive glass, giving her 98 on the season and a new single-season record.
• Columbia, Mo., Feb. 14 — Looking to stop their recent slide, CBC took on the Stars of Stephens College in an AMC game at Silverthorne Arena. CBC (13-13, 5-11 AMC) trailed at halftime, but used strong defense in the second half to defeat SC (7-16, 3-13 AMC) 52-47. Aminata Seck had her 17th double-double of the season, scoring 16 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.
Baseball
• Conway, Feb. 13 — Looking for their first win of the season, CBC played their home opener at Burns Park in North Little Rock against Champion Christian. CBC (2-3) pounded out 29 runs in the two games and swept the doubleheader, beating Champion Christian (0-2) by scores of 17-0 and 12-2. CBC set a single-game stolen bases record in game one, swiping 14 bases, including 4 from Jay French.
• St. Louis, Mo., Feb. 14 — For the first time this season, the AMC has named players of the week for baseball. CBC pitcher Garon Johnson was selected as this week’s AMC Pitcher of the Week for the first time in his career.
Softball
• Conway, Feb. 9 — After seeing the 2022 season opener get pushed back twice, #24 CBC opened the season at City of Colleges Park against the Comets of Cottey College, a future AMC opponent. CBC (2-0) won in dramatic fashion twice, trailing late in both games before using power to sweep the doubleheader by scores of 7-5 and 9-6 over Cottey (0-2).
• Pineville, La., Feb. 11 — Playing on the road for the first time this season, #24 CBC took on the Rams of Texas Wesleyan (TWU) and the Wildcats of Louisiana Christian University (LCU) on the first day of the Generals Showdown, co-hosted by LSU-Alexandria and Louisiana Christian. #24 CBC (3-1) split the two games, beating TWU (1-1) 7-3 in game one before falling to LCU (5-1) on a walkoff, 6-5, in game two.
• Pineville, La., Feb. 13 — After splitting on the first day of the Generals Classic, #24 CBC played two more games at Wildcat Field. CBC (3-3) lost both matchups, falling 13-0 in a run-rule to #13 Central Methodist (2-1) and 11-7 to Blue Mountain (2-1).
