Did You Know?

BT Staff

By Jordan Tew, Executive Director Baptist Publishing House

I thought it would be fun to share some interesting facts with you concerning the ministry of Baptist Publishing House. If you have any questions about what we do, please let me know. I’ll do my best to answer any questions you may have.

• When we quote the Bible, we use the King James Version (KJV). This applies to all books written after 2019. The only resource we print that does not use the KJV exclusively is our classic children’s curriculum, which uses the New King James Version (NKJV). All of our new curriculum, including our new children’s curriculum (DiscipleKidz) uses the KJV.

• Our offices and printer are located in Texas. All the writing, editing and administrative tasks are handled in office space we rent from BMA Seminary in Jacksonville, Texas. Our printer is located in Carthage, Texas and has been there for many years now.

• We print more than Sunday School literature! We also print gospel tracts, Doctrinal Statements and other studies/resources. This includes our legacy library with classic BMA books. This collection will be expanded soon (see our website at baptistpublishinghouse.com). Many of our materials are distributed to church planters and missionaries worldwide.

• We are the only publisher that writes specifically for BMA churches. Everything we produce aligns with our Doctrinal Statement and is written by those who are members in good standing of local BMA churches. No other Baptist publisher is accountable to the local BMA church except us. We are here for you and we are in agreement with you.

• We do not advocate for or promote any particular sort of theology besides BMA Doctrine. There is no goal to steer the local church, or the BMA as a whole, in any particular theological direction. In these times of doctrinal confusion, we have chosen to stick to the trusted path of the Word of God. We simply want to point people to the Bible and the BMA Doctrinal Statement.

• While Baptist Publishing House offices are located on the campus of BMA Seminary, we are a different department entirely. We are very grateful to have some of the BMA Seminary staff lend their expertise in biblical studies and writing to our editorial team. However, Baptist Publishing House is not operated or managed by BMA Seminary.

• We don’t skip Bible verses in our curriculum. We believe God’s Word is perfect and has authority, we aim to provide studies that provide a verse-by-verse overview. While skipping verses would make our jobs easier, we want to be faithful to the Bible. That is what we mean when we talk about “expository” Bible study. We want to provide churches with verse-by-verse studies that are clear and biblical.

Did you find any of these facts surprising? I hope you already knew these things. If you have any questions about this ministry, please send me an e-mail at baptistpublishing@gmail.com. I would love to hear from you. You may also call or text me at (903) 810-7821. I’m always willing to talk about the ministry of Baptist Publishing House!
