JOURNEY WITH JEFF: Early E-Trumpet

Jeff Herring

I received a few messages last week when the E-Trumpet went out at 2 p.m. rather than the normal 5:30 p.m. No, we don’t have plans to make this the normal time for sending out our digital edition. When I scheduled the email last week, instead of the normal 5:30 p.m. time it defaulted to the next available time. I heard from at least one person that was excited to get the latest news even earlier! If you are not an E-Trumpet subscriber and would like to be, please let me know. Contact me at (501) 565-4601 or editor@baptisttrumpet.com.

E-mail Correction

I wanted to make you aware that the original ad for George Reddin’s devotional book, 101 Cups of Coffee, had an incorrect email listed. The new email is 101cupsofcoffeebook@gmail.com and is displayed in the corrected ad on page 8 of this issue.

BMA Church Camp

In 1978, a group of pastors, mostly of the Greenbrier Association, joined together to start a youth camp. My dad was one of those pastors. I’ve been going to camp for as long as I can remember. Dad had a great heart for camp ministry. He loved to see people, young and old, come to know the Lord, and he believed camp was a great time for this to happen. This love for people and his own salvation experience led him to write a small book to help new believers called, “Starting My Life With Christ.”

Over the years, dad served as a camp board member, camp director, camp board secretary, a camp counselor and a true friend of BMA Church Camp. He was recognized at camp in 2013 for 35 years of dedicated service. I truly believe many people have been eternally changed because of his faithfulness to serve the Lord through the BMA Church Camp.

This will be a busy week for me as I attend the 44th Annual BMA Camp. I am honored to serve as the BMA camp director. This camp always takes place the week after Father’s Day, and it reminds me of the great legacy dad left through his ministry and especially his involvement with the camp. We have 320 campers this week, and I believe God is going to do some amazing things. Thank you for your prayers!
