Mount Vernon Brotherhood Meets

BT Staff

By Lance Madden, Reporter

The Mount Vernon BMA Brotherhood met Monday, June 5, at First Baptist Church in Caldwell for their quarterly meeting, with 35 present and 7 churches represented. We collected an offering of $322 for Roberto Marcelletti, a BMA of Arkansas church planter in Northwest Arkansas.

We were opened in prayer by Michael Hight, pastor of the host church, and they fed us a delicious meal of fried chicken, many side dishes and desserts.

We elected the following officers for our new year: Chesser Crisp, president; Kevin Brown will serve as vice president, secretary and treasurer; and Lance Madden, reporter.

Bro. Hight introduced Jorge Vasquez, pastor of El Faro Iglesia in Little Rock. Bro. Jorge shared about his calling to the ministry and how God orchestrated the plan for him to be in Arkansas. He preached a powerful message from Luke 9:23-27 titled, “What are the Implications of Being a Christian?”

The next meeting of the Mount Vernon BMA Brotherhood will be Monday, Sept. 11, at Harmony Baptist Church in West Helena at 6:30 p.m. Our offering goal will be Eddie and Joy Kelso of Know the Truth Prison Ministries. The Kelsos were recently involved in a very serious vehicle accident, and Mrs. Joy especially needs our prayers as she has a very long recovery ahead of her due to extensive injuries.
