New Website Features New Resources

Allan D Eakin

The Baptist Trumpet launched an updated website on March 1. The new site boasts many resources that will benefit churches and church members throughout Arkansas and beyond.

Currently, the website is available to everyone that visits BaptistTrumpet.com. The open availability allows site visitors to “test drive” the various resources and information without restrictions. However, beginning May 1, the premium content on the site will only be available to active Baptist Trumpet subscribers.

The “premium” (subscriber-only) content will include all articles and stories found in the weekly issues of the Baptist Trumpet. More specifically, content from Baptist Trumpet staff (Journey with Jeff, Trumpet Notes and Bottom of the 9th); regular contributors like Dr. Tom Mitchell (Just Thinking), Jake McCandless (Stand Firm & Live Epic), Donny Parrish (In My Own Words), Valerie Fish (A Sip From the Saucer), Tony Cleaver (Leave it to Cleaver) and Martha Brock (Tales from the Potter’s Wheel); and associational articles by Paul White (State Missions), Terry Kimbrow (Central Baptist College), Dan Carson (Student Ministry Matters) and Larry Barker (Healthy Church Solutions) will be classified as “premium.”

Other website features include an Events Calendar and the Baptist Trumpet Archives dating back to 1939. Visitors can even make contributions to the ministry of the Baptist Trumpet by selecting the “Donate” tab and following the on-screen instructions.

Under the Resources Tab, readers will find report forms, the Moving with the Ministers column, Obituaries, BMA Business Listings, links to all BMA of America Departments, links to all BMA of Arkansas Departments, a link to the BMA of America church listing and a link to a searchable listing of BMA churches by location.

With your individual or church-plan subscription to the Baptist Trumpet, not only will you receive a weekly issue (paper, digital or both) delivered to your home or email, but the website (your “go-to” place for BMA information) will be available to you, as well.

If you are not a subscriber, please visit the new site (BaptistTrumpet.com) and give it a “test drive.” If you are ready to subscribe to the Baptist Trumpet, choose the “Subscribe” tab from the main menu and complete the subscription form. Please have a credit card or debit card ready for payment when you subscribe. If you prefer to mail a check for the cost of your subscription, please contact us at the office, (501) 565-4601, and we will get you set up.

Finally, an option to translate the page was added to the site. The drop-down menu box is located in the upper-left area of the homepage. With just a couple of clicks, the Baptist Trumpet website can be translated to Spanish, Portuguese, Filipino and many other languages.

To fully enjoy the website in the future, visitors will need a subscription and log-in credentials that include a username and password. To receive your initial user name and password, call the Baptist Trumpet office at (501) 565-4601 or email Editor Jeff Herring (editor@baptisttrumpet.com) or Associate Editor Allan Eakin (associateeditor@baptisttrumpet.com).

The mission of the Baptist Trumpet is to inform and inspire the churches of the Baptist Missionary Association of Arkansas. The new Baptist Trumpet website is yet another tool to help us accomplish that mission.
