SPOTLIGHT ON MISSIONS: Brandon & Brittney Lingle • Thailand
BT Staff
• Nine Years in Thailand — As of Aug. 19, it has been nine years since we sold everything we had, packed our three bags and boarded a plane for Thailand, and we want to say, “Thank you.” Many of you have been with us since the very beginning. We know we couldn’t do what we do and be here without faithful people like you holding the rope and sending us here! We have seen God’s faithfulness through the years, and it’s been a joy to be here.
• Baby Judah Update — We have had a lot of doctor appointments in the last month. We are so thankful for your prayers and have been so encouraged to hear from so many of you. Since the last update we gave, we have found a new doctor that has been very kind and helpful in many ways. She has arranged a team of doctors to do everything they can on their end to help Judah, and we know this is an answered prayer.
At a recent appointment with the doctors, they were apologizing that we have to face this hard time, and I was able to share about God and how He is our hope in this life even with so many uncertainties. I also shared with them that so many of you, our faithful friends, are praying for our sweet baby.
Right now, he’s 35 weeks. Although he is really small still, he is growing and moving. The doctor’s hope is that he stays in until 38 weeks to get bigger and stronger.
A lot of things are still just uncertain, and we won’t know until he is born. The doctors have been very good to us by just presenting information and leaving the decisions to us. So we have been thankful and praying for God’s wisdom in making those decisions. Right now, the main problems (abnormalities) they think they can see in Judah’s sonogram are heart (VSD), omphalocele (intestines in umbilical cord), horseshoe kidney and brain. Thank you again for praying for us. We go for another check-up in two weeks.
• Praise — The team of doctors wanting to help us, opportunities to share our faith, and the opportunity to serve here for the past nine years.
• Prayer — For Judah and Brittney and for North Bangkok Church as we are looking for a place of our own. We have found a few places that could work to rent and are praying for wisdom in choosing.
