A Challenge That Benefits Generations to Come

By Holly Meriweather

The Natchez Trace Parkway covers three states and 450 low-speed miles. Mississippi, Tennessee and Alabama share sections of this 50-mile-an-hour highway that is meant to be enjoyed by hiking, biking, camping and horseback riding. If you have ever driven the parkway, you’ve noticed the peacefulness of being the only one on the road.

That’s what native Mississippian, cyclist and BMA Global President John David Smith will be doing May 8-12, but for a higher purpose. He says, “This challenge has long been a personal bucket list item. It’s a big challenge, but it’s not about me. The ride is called ChangeMaker Challenge 2023 in honor of our ChangeMakers with whom we partner globally by offering them church planting grants for new churches.”

The vision for ChangeMaker Challenge is to build a foundation for future generations of ChangeMakers around the world. The heart of all missionaries is to establish a ministry that flourishes well beyond their years on the field. Dr. Smith has the same vision — to build an income-generating portfolio that will contribute funding for future ChangeMakers through the money raised.

Your gift will establish a fund to support ChangeMaker missionaries for generations to come. To learn more or to give, scan the QR code in the graphic or go to bmamissions.org/changemakerchallenge.

The $1 million dollars raised will be added to other available funds to create a managed investment account where projected growth will provide a new, recurring, annual income stream for BMA Global that we project could be $200,000 of annual income within five years.

When the baton of leadership is passed, what a blessing to know that current funds are being stewarded to assure ongoing income to continue church planting around the world for future generations.
