BMA Pastor Dies
Donald Rae Hoffmann, 89 of Neelyville, Mo., passed away Dec. 28. He pastored churches in Michigan and Texas, and was the brother of James Hoffman, retired editor of the Missouri Baptist. Bro. Hoffman also pastored churches in Michigan and Texas.
Bro. Hoffman was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of the Lower Doe Run Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, listening to Southern Gospel music, spreading God’s Word to everyone he met and long walks through the woods.
Survivors include: his wife, Thelma Hoffmann of Lewis Center, Ohio; one son, Dan (Kathy) Hoffmann of Ellington, Mo.; three daughters, Debbie (Larry) Lewis of Union, Mo., Jeanette Davis (Jeff Lee) of Dittmer, Mo., and Joyce (Perry) Lewis of Ellington, Mo.; one brother, James (Mary) Hoffmann of Wentzville, Mo.; two sisters, Minnie Gilliam of Dallas, Texas, and Mary (Lewis) Shultz of Pea Ridge; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Dec. 30 at McSpadden Funeral Home in Ellington, Mo. with Melvin Meade officiating, assisted by Jim Hoffmann. Interment followed at Ellington Memorial Cemetery, under the direction of McSpadden Funeral Home (mcspaddenfuneralhomes.com).
