CBC PROFILE: Fall Chapel at CBC

How important is it to see life through a biblical perspective? For a believer in Jesus Christ, it is the only way to live. The Bible is our window through which we understand life. It encompasses our beliefs about God, humanity, purpose and the nature of reality. A biblical worldview influences our values, decisions and how we interact with the world around us.

Central Baptist College lives with a biblical worldview. The Bible is our ultimate textbook. It forms how we teach and is the basis for how we work to mold the lives of students. Of all the values we hold dear at CBC, the absolute authority of God’s Word is our highest ideal.

The fall edition of CBC Chapel will focus on the need for students to understand how a biblical worldview shapes the ministry of the college. We will also challenge our students to make the Bible the foundation for how they live their lives.

Today’s culture is decidedly anti-Christian in its worldview. On most university campuses, sin and abnormal lifestyles are not only permitted, but are celebrated. At CBC, we believe it is important that students understand God’s view on critical issues of the day. Central Baptist College wants to be known as an institution that prepares students for life academically and spiritually.

In the list of chapel topics below you will note several issues that are seemingly settled law in most university settings. Our worldview at Central Baptist College runs counter-culturally to what others believe. Our “settled law” is the Bible. Our goal at CBC Chapel is not to be controversial, but rather, to be faithful to God’s Word.

Pray for our students and faculty at CBC that we will be found faithful to Jesus. Please pray for CBC Chapel as we attempt to deal faithfully with the following subjects:

• Aug. 23 — President Terry Kimbrow — “The Foundation of Central Baptist College”

• Aug. 30 — Dr. Martin Jameson — “Can You Trust the Bible?”
