CBC SPORTS: Men's Golf Looking for 2nd Win

Volleyball

         • Conway, Sept. 17 — Hosting an NCAA opponent for the second straight Tuesday, CBC took on the Bisons of Harding University in front of a nice crowd at A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse. CBC (0-5) got swept by HU (5-4) with scores of 15-25, 14-25 and 21-25. Madeline Freeman had 8 kills to lead the attack, which was aided by a team-high 10 assists from Brooke Schmitz. Kate Scroggins recorded 12 digs to lead the way defensively as CBC had 23 kills and hit .103 compared to 43 kills and a .198 hitting percentage from Harding.

Men’s Soccer

         • Oklahoma City, Okla., Sept. 17 — Playing outside of Arkansas or Mississippi for the first time this season, CBC was on the pitch at Brian Harvey Field for a matchup with the Oklahoma City University Stars (OKCU). CBC (2-4) got a goal in the first half to lead 1-0 at halftime, but allowed a pair of goals within eight minutes in the second half to fall 2-1 to OKCU (5-0-1). Billy Murray netted his third goal for the Mustangs to give them the lead in the 31st minute, a lead they carried into the intermission. Oklahoma City would tie the match in the 62nd minute and go ahead in the 69th. The Mustangs would only get one chance after that, and it went wide to spoil an outstanding Jasper Gadellaa performance in net, as he turned away seven Star strikes.

         • Clarksville, Sept. 21 — Playing on the road for their third consecutive match, CBC was at the Wilson Athletic Complex for a meeting with the Eagles of the University of the Ozarks (U of O). CBC (2-5) trailed 1-0 at halftime, scored in the second half, but allowed another goal in the half to fall 2-1 to U of O (3-2-2). Hugh McAuley scored for the second time this season for CBC on a penalty kick in the 62nd minute. U of O netted goals in the 42nd minute and the 79th minute to come away with the win. Jasper Gadellaa had six saves in the loss.
