CBC SPORTS: Tough Week for CBC Athletics

Volleyball

         • Columbia, Mo., Nov. 7 — Playing in the American Midwest Conference quarterfinals for the first time since 2021, CBC took on the Stars of Stephens College (SC) at Silverthorne Arena. CBC (14-13) was stymied all night by a potent SC (20-10) offense, falling in straight sets to see their season come to an end.

Women’s Basketball

         • Springfield, Mo., Nov. 7 — Looking to bounce back after a season-opening loss at home, CBC took on the Patriots of Baptist Bible College (BBC) at W.E. Dowell Fieldhouse. CBC (0-2) trailed by 3 at halftime and got outscored 46-18 in the second half to fall 91-60 to BBC (4-0).

         • Paragould, Nov. 9 — Renewing a rivalry for the 12th straight year, CBC took on the Pioneers of Crowley’s Ridge College (CRC) at the Carter Activities Center. The 19th meeting between the two schools went the way of CRC (3-1) as the Lady Mustangs (0-3) trailed at halftime and lost 84-71.

Wrestling

         • Conway, Nov. 9 — Competing inside A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse for the first time this season, CBC hosted a dual against the Stars of Oklahoma City University, the #16 team in the NAIA. CBC failed to score a point, getting shutout 53-0 in the seven matches contested on the night.

         • Poteau, Okla., Nov. 11 — CBC was on the mat at the Viking Open at Carl Albert State. Seven wrestlers competed and earned 7 wins and 19 points.

Men’s Basketball

         • Oakland City, Ind., Nov. 10 — Playing in their second game of their current road trip, CBC opened the Dunn Hospitality Classic against the Mighty Oaks of Oakland City University (OCU) at the Johnson Center. CBC (3-1) led by as many as 16 at one point and shot free throws well to pick up an 80-70 win over OCU (1-2).

         • Oakland City, Ind., Nov. 11 — Looking to wrap up the Dunn Hospitality Classic unbeaten, CBC took on the Trailblazers of Ohio Christian University (OCU) at the Johnson Center. CBC (3-2) got off to a fast start, but cooled off in the second half, losing 80-70 to OCU (2-3).
