Join Us for Early for Fun and Fellowship (Topgolf)
BMA Seminary is excited to announce that it has received a Pathways 2025 Assessment and Planning Grant. This award, provided by a philanthropic foundation, aims to “support exploration and opportunities that strengthen and sustain... the school’s capacity to prepare and support pastoral leaders for Christian churches.”
Over the years, BMA Seminary administrators have collected anecdotal information from BMA pastors and church leaders about their congregations’ specific needs and emerging challenges related to pastoral leadership. After all, the seminary's mission is to equip individuals for leadership roles within BMA churches.
However, the assessment and planning grant will enable BMA Seminary to help church leaders clarify their congregations’ specific needs and challenges regarding pastoral leadership. Hopefully, seminary personnel can respond by developing accurate and targeted strategies to address the identified needs and challenges of BMA congregations and their pastoral leaders.
So, how will the Assessment and Planning Grant operate? First, it permits BMA Seminary to utilize grant funds instead of the institution’s general fund, which comes from donations and tuition income. Second, it enables BMA Seminary to host events that promote fun, fellowship and fact-finding.
The main event is set for April 21 at Topgolf Dallas, one day before the Baptist Missionary Association of America National Meeting in Waxahachie, Texas. Grant funds will cover the costs for attendees to play golf and enjoy food. In other words, this is a chance to play Topgolf for free, including individuals with physical disabilities. Designated congregational leaders will also be invited to assist the seminary by sharing their insights on pastoral leadership needs and challenges. These leaders will receive a stipend to help offset the cost of an additional night’s hotel stay. The event is scheduled from 1-4 p.m. It would be very helpful if you could sign up for the event by emailing the seminary president’s office at president@bmats.edu.
Please take advantage of this unique opportunity to have some fun and help BMA Seminary. If you are reading this article, we hope you can join us!
