Mt. Vernon Brotherhood Meets
By Lance Madden, Reporter
The Mount Vernon BMA Brotherhood met Monday, Dec. 5 at Bethel Baptist Church in Forrest City for our quarterly meeting, with 29 in attendance and 9 churches represented. We collected an offering of $362, which went to Farrell Eoff, pastor of Rondo Baptist Church, for medical expenses.
The host church fed the men a delicious meal of hamburger steaks. After congregational singing led by Bernard Evans and Rose Kemmer, Dexter Thorn sang “How Beautiful Heaven Must Be,” J.E. Hughes sang “For What Earthly Reason,” Joe and Rose Kemmer played a medley of “Rock of Ages,” “The Old Rugged Cross” and “America the Beautiful” on the accordion and piano, and Vickie Lewis sang “Thank You, Lord, for Your Blessings on Me.” Don Lewis, pastor of Haynes Baptist Church, then preached an encouraging and challenging message from Luke 1:26-37 titled, “For with God Nothing Shall Be Impossible.”
The next meeting of the Mt. Vernon BMA Brotherhood will be Monday, March 6, at Rondo Baptist Church at 6:30 p.m. Our offering goal will be Central Baptist College.
