Newest BMAA Chaplain Candidate
By Dr. Scott Carson, Director • BMA Chaplaincy
Anthony Kennedy recently branch transferred as an artillery officer into the U.S. Army Chaplain Candidate Program. Dr. Scott Carson endorsed Second Lieutenant Kennedy to represent the BMAA in the U.S. Army Chaplaincy. The Chaplain Candidate Program is designed for ministry students who want to explore or get a head start on a career in Army Chaplaincy while still in seminary.
Chaplain candidates gain valuable experience and make a real impact in the lives of soldiers and their families. Benefits include gaining valuable ministry education and training, having the benefits and privileges associated with being an officer and receiving up to 100% of tuition costs. Anthony stated, “It is truly an honor for me to represent the BMAA as a chaplain candidate. Throughout my time in the military, I’ve seen deep hurt in many soldiers. I consider it a great privilege as I reach the lost in our military community and help give spiritual guidance to soldiers and families in need. The Lord has used BMAA ministers to lead me to salvation and disciple me in Christian leadership. To do that for others as a chaplain candidate, while representing the BMAA, is a very special thing for me.”
On the civilian side, Anthony and his wife, Adrienne have been interning under
Healthy Church Solutions to help provide resources and equip Faith Baptist Church of Mena for discipleship. If you are interested in the military chaplaincy, contact Dr. Scott Carson at scott.r.carson@gmail.com for more information.
