Editor’s Note: For security reasons, this missionary’s name and ministry location are not being shared.
See ya later, USA! The time has come! I move to Mexico in a few days! I am so excited to start training, language and culture learning and start meeting new friends. While I am in Mexico there are a few ways to contact me. The primary way of contact will be through email as I will have a different phone number while I’m there. I can also receive snail mail and packages. I’ll list the contact information below. I would love to hear from you while I am gone! I have many things to get done in the next few days so please be in prayer that God will direct my time so I am able to complete everything before I leave.
I am still in need of a few monthly supporters. As most of you already know, I have to raise 100% of my salary. God calls all of us to participate in the Great Commission. We participate by either going or sending. I won’t be able to go if I don’t have people who send. Whether you give $1 or $100 a month, everything is helpful. There is information at the end of this update on how to give. If you have questions, let me know! Thank you to those who have committed to give monthly, and those who have given one-time donations!
Last but not least, my home church is having a commissioning service and potluck on Sunday morning, Aug. 13. Everyone is invited! It will be during the 11 a.m. service at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Greenbrier, 505 State Hwy 225 W, Greenbrier, Ark. 72058.
While I am in Mexico, contact me via email at arkslp@protonmail.com. If you are interested in sending “snail” mail or packages, please reach out to me for my mailing address.
• Summer Life Updates — This summer has been so busy! I have traveled to one new country, visited three new states, read several new books, made friends at GMA camp and VBS, worked a full-time job and completed a 220-hour Teaching English as a Foreign Language certificate course, all while preparing to move to Mexico. It has been great to be able to spend time with family and friends the past several weeks.
In May, Mom and I visited Ireland. We saw the Cliffs of Moher, went on a food tour and saw Michael Bublé in concert!
In June, we had a wonderful GMA camp and Vacation Bible School. I loved getting to spend time with our girls! GMA camp and VBS raised enough money to cover my entire tuition, room and board for my training program. Praise God!
I spent the week of July 4 with our youth group visiting Morgan Grace Church in Utah. It was great to see my friends following God’s will by living out their lives to reach the people of Morgan County. We had a great time decorating and riding floats in the Fourth of July parade! Wedding showers, spending time with friends and goodbye parties with my co-workers have filled the rest of the month of July!
Last but not least, I got to spend a few days in Alaska with my brother and dad. It was so beautiful and a nice break from the 110-degree heat in Arkansas.
Prayer Requests & Praises
• For my health as I continue to prepare for the physical demands of the mission field.
• For “Community Group 4” (the people I will be spending the most time with over the next year).
• Praise God for the money raised at GMA Camp/VBS.
• Pray that I will be able to discern a place and people group to serve among long term.
If you or your church are interested in supporting me on this journey, please contact me at arkslp@protonmail.com or (501) 314-9806. Support can be mailed to BMA Missions, P.O.
