SPOTLIGHT ON MISSIONS: Candra Barnett • Romania
Last month, I started an English Club in Tarian, the village where we are hoping to start our next church plant! One of the moms approached me last night and expressed how much her kids loved coming to the English Club. They can’t wait to go every week because they get to play games and have fun! Though we indeed play a lot of games, what those kids don’t realize is they are learning too (Shhh, don’t tell them!)! While the kids are learning English, my friend Adriana has been building relationships with their moms! Please pray that we build relationships in this community that will grow into a church plant.
March is a big month in Romania! On March 1, we celebrated the first day of spring, and on March 8, we will celebrate International Women’s Day. All the moms of the kids we’ve seen at English Club have been invited to a ladies’ day event at Giris Baptist Church, the church that will be the mother church for Tarian. Pray for these moms to be reached for Christ!
And that’s all for today! I have a goal of writing shorter, more frequent updates. So you’ll hear from me more often, but it won’t take much time to stay caught up!
Please join me in praying for the following prayer requests:
• Upcoming Furlough — I will be in America from March 26 to June 26.
• English Club — Pray for more attendance and to build relationships.
• Ladies’ Day — Pray God will use the connections made on this day to be a bridge to get moms from the English club into the church.
Please join me in praising God for the success of the English Club, which has been well-received by the community. Additionally, I completed a 120-hour online course in Teaching English as a Foreign Language this week. I am close to having my furlough schedule full and I’m going to be an aunt soon!
Thank you for reading and praying. If you want to learn more, you can do so at my blog, Candra in Romania (candrainromania.wordpress.com). If the Lord leads you to give to this ministry, you can do so at tiny.cc/BMAGlobalBarnett. God Bless!
