SPOTLIGHT ON MISSIONS: Doug & Diane Lee
Doug and Diane Lee • Philippines
Because of COVID, we have not been able to have College Week for two years. College Week is an annual event at the college the week after mid-term exams. It gives the students a chance to unwind and have a time of fun, games and camaraderie. Donna Scroggins was a fantastic sponsor this year with four teams. It was an incredible time of sports, talent contests, preaching, basketball, ping-pong, cooking competitions and the famous Amazing Race! Each team did an excellent job and showed an outstanding display of good sportsmanship.
Work is nearly complete on the Darlene Carey Christian Academy! The building should be complete in April, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and dedication scheduled for May 19. Classes will begin in August 2022. A big shout-out to Dr. Stan Scroggins and Pastor JoJo Vallejera for coordinating this building project, and a great big thank you to the National WMA for adopting the academy as their project.
Life as a missionary involves being open to new opportunities to expand ministry to reach people in all walks of life with the gospel. Besides working in church planting, Bible study groups and overseeing the BMA Bible College, Doug was recently invited to become a chaplain officer of the Pearl of the Orient Chaplain’s Values Educators, Inc. in the Philippines. It is a volunteer organization that ministers to Coast Guard personnel and other military and law enforcement. Doug served as a chaplain’s assistant in the Army during the Vietnam era.
Support funds can be sent to: Mill Creek Baptist Church, 11 Old Kiln Rd., Picayune, Miss. 39466 or BMAA Missions, P.O. Box 878, Conway, Ark. 72033. Please be sure to designate for whom and how the funds are to be used. (edouglee70@gmail.com, dianehusserlee@gmail.com)
