SPOTLIGHT ON MISSIONS: Sam & Sue Jordan • Jordan
We glorify the Lord for His grace that continues to work in our hearts and through us. We are still serving thousands of suffering people who need to experience God’s love in their lives. Many have accepted the Lord as their Savior and 27 were baptized.
• Receiving Silver Jubilee Medal by His Majesty King Abdullah II — As a result of many years of work and service to tens of thousands of Syrian refugees and other needy people through the church’s various projects such as medical services, educational programs for Syrian children, refugee camp services and women’s services, Suhail Zraiqat, our community center director, was invited by the Royal Court and informed he would receive the Silver Jubilee Medal from the king of Jordan. A few weeks ago, he was honored by His Majesty King Abdullah II with that medal.
• The Church’s 50th Anniversary — We will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of Zarqa Baptist Church and will have a special ceremony by the grace of the Lord on June 14. Thank you for your prayers and support over the past years. Because of you, we were able to serve thousands of people and show them the practical love of God.
• The Church History Book — We have written a book about the church’s history over the past 50 years, and it’s waiting for printing. It provides a detailed account of God’s care for the church and discusses the accomplishments of the ministry from its inception to the present day. We hope it will soon be translated into English.
Praises and Prayers
• Praises — We praise God for His grace and faithfulness throughout all these years. We praise God for His countless blessings in our lives. We praise God for His protection over us. We praise God for the people who have decided to make Him Lord and Savior of their lives. We praise God for our wonderful team and for our partners in ministry.
• Prayers — Pray for a schedule full of activities during the summer. Pray for a million and a half refugees still awaiting asylum in one of the countries and have no chance to return to their home country. Pray that the Lord will give us grace to serve and help them. As a result of the conflict in our region, please pray for peace. Please pray the Lord will provide for the printing costs of the church history book ($5,500 to cover 1,500 copies).
