SPOTLIGHT ON MISSIONS: Sam & Sue Jordan • Jordan (Life Changing Ministries)
“Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation” (Psa. 68:5).
My wife, Susan, and I would like to share some good news and spiritual experiences from Blessings Center, which is dedicated to serving widows, the elderly and abandoned women. The Lord gave my wife, along with several other ladies, a wonderful vision that has made, and continues to make, a difference in the lives of many widows and suffering women. We have experienced numerous blessings from the work of the Holy Spirit through our ministry among these women.
The center remains dedicated to providing a variety of services, including spiritual and social support. Our team focuses on spiritual ministry through various activities, such as one-on-one pastoral care, discipleship, spiritual counseling and Bible study lessons held two to three times weekly.
Since many women have experienced difficult circumstances, such as losing their husbands or encountering financial hardships, the center has offered personal counseling through trained leaders, providing support and guidance to dozens of women in distress.
• An Impacting Story — Ibtisam lost her husband and was left alone, without children to support her. She experienced profound loneliness and severe depression for over two years, during which she stopped attending church. Our team visited her and invited her to the Blessings Center. When she visited for the first time, she found herself surrounded by a loving group of blessed women. She felt embraced by a caring family and was drawn to join the center. A remarkable transformation took place in her life, leading to emotional and spiritual healing. Today, Ibtisam considers the center as her second home, and the women there have become her family who support her. She now attends daily, actively participating in and assisting with the center’s activities.
• Women’s Conference — The Blessing Center participated in the annual Baptist Women’s Conference in Jordan, held at the Baptist Conference Center in Ajloun. Sixty-five women from the center and our church in Zarqa attended. The theme of the conference was “Pain and Divine Healing.” Many women took a step of faith, responding to God’s Word and experiencing powerful transformation in their lives. Several women testified about the changes God brought into their lives through the messages shared at the conference.
• Christmas Season — During the Christmas season, the center had a wonderful opportunity to share Christmas messages with the women at the center and many others during home visits. A special celebration was organized, including worship songs, a Christmas message and a fun time shared by the women of the center with a delicious meal. Additionally, the center visited a Baptist church and participated in a women’s gathering there. It was a great opportunity for the women to connect and get to know one another. The pastor of the church shared an uplifting spiritual message to encourage them.
• Christmas Love Gift — As a gesture of love, the center also gave each woman a special Christmas gift, which had a blessed and meaningful impact on them.
• Training with Korean Team — A team of Korean women offered various services to the ladies at Blessings Center. They held a handicrafts workshop, and one of the beauty experts provided an enlightening lecture on skincare that was both enjoyable and beneficial for the women.
• Praises — We give thanks to God for the transformation in the lives of the women, for their growth in faith and understanding of God's Word, for His grace working within them and for the many opportunities to connect with new women. We also praise God for our partners.
• Prayer Requests — We pray for peace in our region, for women to continue their spiritual growth journey and for special wisdom to address the various needs of women (spiritual, emotional, physical and financial) so that they may actively and positively impact the lives of their families and each other. We also pray for the provision of the center’s financial needs.
