The Importance of Associationism

By Dr. David G. Hellwig, Vice President/Dean • BMA Seminary

Have you ever wondered why the Baptist Missionary Association of America (BMAA) includes “Association” in its name? In conjunction with the 75th Anniversary of the BMAA, we invite you to join us at BMA Seminary and Jacksonville College in Jacksonville, Texas, on April 8-9, 2025, for a series of lectures discussing what it means to be part of an association of churches.

Lectures will be presented by Dr. Thom South, adjunct professor of Church History and Theology at BMA Seminary and pastor of Eastside Baptist Church in Conway and Dr. David Erickson, president of Jacksonville College and former professor of Church History and Theology at the BMA Seminary.

         • April 8 — 10 a.m. — Defining “Church” and “Association” with Dr. Thom South, Dorman Chapel, BMA Seminary

         • April 8 — 2 p.m. — Biblical Basis and Benefits of an Association with Dr. Thom South, Dorman Chapel, BMA Seminary

         • April 9 — 11 a.m. — A History of the BMAA, Dr. David Erickson with Buckner Chapel, Jacksonville College
