Through So Much, But Have So Much Joy
By Andrew Watson, Executive Director and Founder
On a recent evening, I was on the ranch feeding and watering the cows, when I began to hear little voices yelling behind me, “Mr. Andrew! Mr. Andrew! Come and see us!” As the water trough was filling, I walked over to the driveway where the kids were riding bikes and scooters and playing basketball. One precious four-year-old girl said, “Mr. Andrew, look at my dress!” I told her she looked beautiful and asked if she had worn the dress to preschool. With a big smile on her face, she enthusiastically said, “Yes!” Her older sister, who is eight, told me about her day and some of the things she had learned at school.
There was a common theme with the kids that evening — joy! How can children who have been through so much have such a joyful demeanor? It is because they know they are loved, safe and provided for, and they get to just enjoy being kids. They know we love their parents and are helping them become the best parents they can be. Most of all, they learn that Jesus loves them and their family. We couldn’t provide the quality of care the children receive without you! You truly are giving children and their families a chance.
This year, our seventh annual 48 Hours of Giving campaign will take place on April 23-25. All the funds raised from 48 Hours of Giving go directly into the operating budget. Because of your generosity and God’s faithfulness over the past six years, more than $468,000 has been given through this annual campaign. Again, this year, we have some wonderful supporters who are providing matching funds to double your gift.
If you would like to participate, you can give online at SoaringWingsAR.org/48hours. Thank you for giving children a chance to soar!
