W4C: "Hot Dogs and Hot Rods" Car Show Returns

By Emily McCray

Water For Christ (W4C) is thrilled to announce the 10th annual “Hot Dogs and Hot Rods” car show, a fundraising event benefiting the organization’s mission to provide clean drinking water and share the message of Jesus Christ in developing countries. The event will take place on May 31st, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at LifeSong Baptist Church in Greenbrier (56 S Broadview St.).

In collaboration with LifeSong Baptist Church, this family-friendly event promises a day of classic cars, delicious food and opportunities to support a worthy cause. Car enthusiasts are invited to register their vehicles between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m., with trophy presentations scheduled for 1:30 p.m. For more information about the event and how to register, visit waterforchrist.com/events/hot-dogs-hot-rods.

A Showcase of Automotive Excellence

“Hot Dogs and Hot Rods” is expected to feature over 80 classic cars and hot rods, creating a stunning display around the perimeter of the LifeSong Baptist Church parking lot. Adding to the excitement, the W4C Race car, driven by Jordan Mallet (pending availability), will be on display.

         Vehicle classes for judging include:

         • Classic: Pre-1950, 1950-1960, 1970-Current

         • Hot Rod & Muscle: Pre 1969, 1970-1999, 2000-Current

         • SUV/Jeep: Pre-1970, 1970-Current

         • Truck: (All)

         • Motorcycles/Trikes: (All)

More Than Just Cars

Beyond the impressive car showcase, attendees can witness a live demonstration of a W4C drilling rig and pump, providing a glimpse into the organization’s vital work in providing clean water in developing countries. Donation buckets will be located at the food and check-in tents, with raffles and prizes adding to the fundraising efforts. W4C and “Hot Dogs and Hot Rods” merchandise, including t-shirts and tumblers, will be available for purchase.

The coveted grand prize is a unique 40-pound trophy crafted from two welded drill bits. Approximately 30 trophies will be awarded throughout the day, recognizing excellence in various car classes and types.

Making a Difference, One Well at a Time

Water For Christ aims to raise $25,000 through the event to fund the construction of new water wells in villages near the Sahara Desert. Access to clean water is a critical need in many African communities, where individuals often spend their entire day retrieving water, leaving little time for education, work or other essential activities. By providing clean water, W4C empowers communities to thrive.

About Water For Christ

Come out to LifeSong Baptist Church for a fun-filled day with classic cars, delicious food, and the opportunity to support Water For Christ’s life-changing work!
