WMA: Famous Last Words

By Judy Wallace

With today’s medicine and palliative care, we rarely hear the last words of those who are dying. However, some have been recorded in the past, my favorite being from Sojourner Truth. She died singing, “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot,” and saying, “I go to prepare a place for you.”

The famous last words that we, as Christians, should concentrate on are the ones that Jesus gave us before He ascended to Heaven, where He now sits at the right hand of God, the Father. His instructions to us as He left were “Go and Tell.”

As we enter this new year, our new theme for the coming year is “Go and Tell.” I pray that each lady will take to heart that this is our commission. As we go, we are to spread the light of the Lord Jesus Christ through our words and actions. May we always be conscious of those around us who need to hear the gospel and be shown the kindness and compassion of our Lord Jesus Christ! Start now, start today, and throughout each day of your life, “Go and Tell!”
