Henry Franklin Williams, 89 of Fordyce passed away Jan. 16. He had served as pastor of Pine Crest Baptist Church since 2002 he was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include: 2 daughters, Cathy (Paul) Jackson and Sonya (Jeff) Mogenson; and 1 son, Darryl (Michelle) Williams; 6 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held at Wheeler Cemetery on Jan. 26 with Paul Jackson and Robert Williams officiating and under the direction of Benton Funeral ...

The phrase was coined by Heraclitus Ridens, a poet in the 1600s and then made popular by writer Jonathan Swift in the early 1700s — Promises and pie crusts are made to be broken. A simple internet search gives us the origin but not the motive for such a philosophy. Pie crusts are, indeed, made to hold pie fillings and, if never cut or broken, would make eating a pie a little more difficult....
