Arkansas Galileans to Meet at Beaverfork
By Dan Williams
The Arkansas Galilean Fall Fellowship will meet at Camp Beaverfork (159 Beaverfork Road, Conway), Dec. 6-7. Registration will begin Friday at 7 p.m. in the tabernacle. The $25 camp fee per person is due upon arrival. Make checks payable to Arkansas State Galileans. Breakfast will be provided at camp, and we should finish before noon on Dec. 7. While the Arkansas State Galileans host this event, please consider joining us, even if you do not have a Galilean ministry in your church. All young men (ages 9-18) are invited to participate in this event.
Our theme for 2024 is “Walk in the Spirit — Born of the Spirit (John 3:5-8), Comforted by the Spirit (Acts 7:55; John 14:16) and Guided by the Spirit (John 14:26; Romans 8:6-7).” “Walk in the Spirit” serves as the main theme, while the three sub-themes will be the focus for each meeting of the year — “Born of the Spirit” (spring meeting), “Comforted by the Spirit” (summer meeting) and “Guided by the Spirit” (fall meeting).
The speaker for the meeting is Marty Claiborne, the pastor of Twin Oaks Baptist Church in Clarksville. Bro. Claiborne has been in ministry for 21 years. He was saved at the age of 11 and served in the Navy after high school. He has been blessed to serve in four different churches across two states. He earned a Certificate in Bible from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Bro. Claiborne has served at Twin Oaks Baptist Church for nearly nine years. He is married to Keri, and they have two sons who attend Central Baptist College.
Campers will need warm clothing for outdoor activities, a sleeping bag or bedroll (bunk beds in cabins), a pillow, a Bible and spending money (drinks are 50¢ and candy is $1). The officers and I hope to see a group of boys and men from your church on Dec. 6. For further information, contact me at dwilltwelve@gmail.com or (501) 336-4586 (call or text). The event program is available on the National Galileans website, Galileans.com.
