Arkansas Ladies Retreat
By Kelly Williams • Arkansas WMA
The Arkansas WMA is hosting its annual ladies’ retreat at Central Baptist College on Friday evening, Sept. 27 and Saturday, Sept. 28. Our theme for the retreat this year is “A Lasting Legacy,” which is also the National WMA theme for the year.
Our keynote speaker is Sabrina Clayton, and we know she will be a great blessing to all of us. Angela Wisely and friends will lead our worship again this year.
Friday will begin with snacks and registration starting at 5:30 p.m. in the Cooper Complex main hallway. Our Friday evening activity will be learning about leaving a legacy for our family through scrapbooking. All supplies will be provided, but we need each lady to bring 10-12 of your family photos from any Christmas. We will have paper, stickers, etc., following the theme of Christmas for you to add to your scrapbook pages. Jessica Marker from Texas will be leading this workshop. Hotel information will be forthcoming soon.
Saturday begins with registration (for those not attending Friday night) at 8:30 a.m. We will begin with worship at 9 a.m. Lunch will be served in the CBC cafeteria, and it will be delicious! We will have a silent auction during lunch with baskets, etc., filled with anything that can be used to make memories (legacy). Some suggestions are holiday baskets, camping, picnic, scrapbook, s’mores, baking, gardening, game night, reading, lake day, swimming, movie night, fun on the farm, etc. We need to be able to see what is in the basket so ladies know what they are bidding on. Afternoon sessions will be group discussions like last year about the theme — “A Lasting Legacy.”
Online registration will be available soon. Information on registering will be published in the Baptist Trumpet and the Arkansas WMA Facebook page at facebook.com/groups/arkansaswma.
Our retreat is one of the highlights of the year. Bring your entire ladies’ ministry and join us Sept. 27-28.
