Good Soil Conference Offered
By Heidi Sorrels, Pastor Advocate • Healthy Church Solutions
Healthy Church Solutions is always looking for great tools and trainings that will help people fulfill the Great Commission. Consequently, we are excited to host another “Good Soil Evangelism and Discipleship Training and Certification Workshop” next Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Aug. 22-24 at BMA Global (611 Locust Street, Conway, Ark.). Pastors, spouses, ministry leaders, church members and students are invited to attend!
Thursday and Friday from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Good Soil Trainer Gil Thomas will teach an interactive training that culminates with a teaching certification so you can share this with your church and other groups or begin evangelizing and discipling on your own. Saturday from 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Gil is also teaching an additional class called “Moving Beyond Lecture.” Utilize this day as a stand-alone training (you do not have to attend Thursday and Friday to participate) or as an additional day of enrichment. The cost for all three days is $50 and includes materials and lunch. If you choose to attend the Saturday class only, the cost is $20 for materials and lunch. Some scholarships are available based on need. If you have questions or want to participate, email me at heidi@bmaglobal.org by Monday, Aug. 19.
The Good Soil Training is a workshop that motivates, trains and resources people in a biblical worldview that allows them to approach evangelism and discipleship with more confidence. This approach is easily reproducible. Gil says Good Soil “unfolds the Bible’s redemptive story, from Genesis through Revelation, allowing the participant to have his/her own ‘aha’ moments as mysteries of the Bible are progressively revealed through the study. It’s a great ‘no pressure’ way for non-Christian participants to clearly understand the gospel, so they can sincerely embrace Jesus as Savior.” It’s also a great way for disciple believers to understand the gospel more fully and see Jesus represented in all of Scripture. In Saturday’s “Moving Beyond Lecture” class, you will learn how to consistently engage participants no matter what subject you teach and learn how to be a more creative instructor who facilitates interaction. You will practice your new-found skills in a safe environment with feedback designed to accelerate the application of what you learn. You will leave the training with an easy seven-step process for designing training sessions that will help you deliver more memorable presentations or sermons.
