BMA Pastor's Widow Dies
Ermagene Jackson Sullivan, 96, of San Dimas, Calif., passed away on Oct. 17. She was the wife of the late BMA Pastor Dr. S.T. Sullivan and daughter of the late Dr. D.N. Jackson. Dr. Sullivan pastored many churches through the years, including Jefferson Heights and Crestview, both in Oklahoma City, Okla.; First in Jacksonville, Texas; and Calvary Baptist Church in Lavern, Calif.
Mrs. Sullivan used her musical talents to serve in her local church and trained to be a concert pianist in college. She served as president of the National Women’s Missionary Auxiliary (WMA) for two years (1967-1969) and also wrote Mama Said, a study course book, during her work with the WMA. She served alongside her husband as a faithful pastor’s wife for 48 years.
Survivors include: a daughter, Taylora Jean (Edward) Dial; a son, Nathan Chapan (Regina) Sullivan; 5 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Nov. 11 at Resthaven Memorial Park in Jacksonville, Texas, with James Blaylock officiating under the direction of Autry Funeral Home (autryfuneralhome.com).
