BMA Pastor's Wife Dies

Bennie Louis Frye Henry, 87 of Sulphur Springs, Texas passed away Dec. 25. She was the wife of retired BMA pastor Dr. James “Jimmy” Henry for 68 years. Bro. Henry pastored many churches in Texas and Arkansas, including: First at Magnolia; Central at Texarkana; and Hillcrest at Texarkana. He also served as the Director of the Ministers Benefit Department.

Mrs. Bennie was a church secretary for many years, and was a clerk for the Ministers Benefit Department. But, most of all, she was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

Other survivors include: a son, Dr. John Mark (Cindy) Henry; two daughters, Debra Anne Shelton and Sherry Sue (Richard) Hatcher; two brothers, Jerry Lloyd (Melissa) Frye and Charles Ray (Judy) Frye; a sister, Faye Elizabeth Maness; seven grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Dec. 28 at West Oaks Funeral Home, with James Schoenrock and Dr. John Mark Henry officiating. Interment followed at Springhill Cemetery in Springhill, La., under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home (westoaksfuneralhome.com).
