CBC Announces New Trustees

The BMA of Arkansas, in their November 2021 annual meeting, elected four new members to serve five-year terms on the Central Baptist College Board of Trustees beginning in 2022. They are: Lincoln Dial of La Verne, Calif.; Jenny Lindsey of Caldwell, Jake McCandless of Pea Ridge and Kirk Shelton of Fayetteville. Also elected to serve two-year unexpired terms are David Watkins of Magnolia and PJ Noland of North Little Rock.

Lincoln Dial is the senior pastor, head of school/principal and athletic director at Calvary Baptist Church and Schools of La Verne, Calif., where he has served for 17 years. He received a Bachelor of Science/Kinesiology degree from the University of La Verne, Teaching Credential/Physical Education from Point Loma Nazarene College of San Diego and Teaching Credential/Learning Disabled-Special Education from Cal Poly Pomona of Pomona, Calif. He also serves on the Missionary Committee of the BMA of California Board and BMA-Southern Coast Board. He and his wife, the former Carla Black, have two children.

Jenny Lindsey is the retired city clerk, treasurer and recorder for the City of Caldwell. She has served as chairman of the Caldwell Cotton Picking Festival for the last 15 years. Lindsey is a member of First Baptist Church of Caldwell and the widow of late Elmer “B” Lindsey. They have three children and one grandchild.

Jake McCandless is the executive director of Stand Firm and lead pastor at Epic Church NWA in Springdale. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible and Pastoral Studies from Central Baptist College and an Advanced Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary of Fort Worth, Texas. Jake and his wife, the former Amanda Chadwell, have two children.

Kirk Shelton serves as the lead pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in Fayetteville. He is also the owner and founder of Hill City Popcorn Company in Fayetteville. He attended CBC and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Religion from Dallas Baptist University. Shelton and his wife, the former Toni Greer, have three children and three grandchildren.

David Watkins is the pastor of First Baptist Church in Waldo. He attended CBC, Southern State College in Magnolia and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from National Christian University in San Antonio, Texas. He has previously served a full term on the CBC Board of Trustees from 2002-2006. He and his wife, the former Sheryl Jones, have three children and six grandchildren.

         P. J. Noland is the lead pastor of Collective Church in Bryant. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from CBC. This will be Noland’s first term on the Board of Trustees.

I have been extremely blessed with strong leadership on the Board of Trustees and I’m looking forward to adding these men and women to the twenty-member board and drawing on their expertise.

CBC Board Officers for 2022 include: Chair Jim Fink of Little Rock, Vice Chair Bobby Stoner of Conway, Secretary Kellie Harper of Sarepta, La., and Assistant Secretary Michele Corder of Plumerville.
