CBC PROFILE: CBC Fine Arts
The Central Baptist College Fine Arts Department has several performances, services and concerts planned over the coming months. Mark your calendar and make plans to join us for some of these events:
• Thursday, Oct. 12 — The annual hymn service has been set for Tuesday, Oct. 12, at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. The hymn services are participatory worship services led by the worship choir and accompanied by piano, organ and various student instrumentalists. This year’s theme is 18th Century British Hymnwriters. The service will be held in the Toland Chapel inside the Cooper Complex.
• Tuesday, Oct. 24 — Caleb Allen, a music education major, will perform his senior recital at 7 p.m. in Toland Chapel.
• Thursday, Oct. 26 — AJ Woodraska, a music education major, will perform his senior recital at 7 p.m. in Toland Chapel.
• Thursday, Nov. 2 — CBC will be hosting the 74th Annual BMA of Arkansas Meeting. The CBC Band and Choir will be entertaining guests on Thursday evening. The meeting is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Burgess Auditorium inside the Cooper Complex.
• Thursday, Nov. 30 — This year’s Christmas Concert will feature all vocal and instrumental groups. The festival of music will include the band, jazz band, worship and chamber choir, singers and hand bells. The event will begin at 7 p.m. in Burgess Auditorium.

Homecoming Plans
We are looking for a big crowd to join us for homecoming this year. CBC Homecoming is scheduled for Jan. 12-13, 2024. Below is the schedule of events for the weekend:
Friday, Jan. 12
• Annual Chili Cook-Off (11 a.m.-1 p.m. in Childers Dining Hall) — The annual Chili Cook-Off will take place in the Mabee Student Center. Students, alumni and faculty/staff are encouraged to compete. The event will take place during lunch. Registration is free; all we ask is that you provide enough chili for our students to sample. CBC Dining Services will provide hot dogs to accompany the chili. Prizes will be given for the best chili and for overall presentation. To register a Chili Cook-off team, email Peggy Pillow at ppillow@cbc.edu.
• Harvest Party Throwback Night (6 p.m. in Childers Dining Hall) — Calling all alumni! Join us Friday night as we enjoy an evening of fun. This year, we will be featuring a Harvest Party Reunion. The evening will consist of dinner, games and entertainment provided by Dr. Zeb Balentine (class of 2008). Cost for the event is $5 per person. To register, visit cbc.edu/homecoming.
Saturday, Jan. 13
• Mustang Pre-Game Tailgate (11 a.m.) — Join us on the lawn for tailgating, lunch, games and inflatables. To reserve a space, contact Mallory Guyton at mguyton@cbc.edu.
• Lady Mustangs vs. Harris-Stowe (1 p.m. in A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse).
• Homecoming Crowning — Join us in between the women’s and men’s basketball games for the announcement of our 2024 Central Baptist College Homecoming Queen.
