CBC SPORTS: Golf Teams Excell

Cross Country

         • Searcy, Sept. 15 — Running for the second straight weekend, CBC was on the course at Harding University for the Steve Guymon Invitational. Josh Brown competed in the men’s four-mile event, while Mackenzie Milligan and Lindsey Risner both competed in the women’s 5K. Brown posted a time of 32:50.7 in the four-mile, which is the fifth fastest four-mile time in program history. Milligan posted a time of 26:48.1, and Risner recorded her personal best time of 31:56.5.

Men’s Soccer

         • Memphis, Tenn., Sept. 15 — Facing off with an NCAA Division II opponent for the second straight match, CBC took on the Bucs of Christian Brothers University at Signaigo Field. CBC (2-6) allowed three first half goals and none in the second half to fall 3-0 to CBU (3-0-2).

Volleyball

         • Conway, Sept. 16 — Returning to A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse for the first time since Aug. 19, CBC looked to remain perfect against the Crusaders of Dallas Christian College (DCC). CBC (6-6) dominated the match, improving their hitting percentage in each set to cruise to a 3-0 sweep of DCC (2-2).

Men’s Golf

         • Kennett, Mo., Sept. 18 — Playing for the second time this fall season, CBC was on course at the Kennett Golf Club for the first round of the Williams Baptist University Fall Invitational. CBC shot a first round even-par 288 to hold a 10-shot lead over both the hosts, Williams Baptist, and Lyon College. Individually, Leopold Maes is tied for first having shot a one-under par 71. Every other Mustang is within three shots of the lead as Paul Gomez, Kitsakon Jairak and Emmanuel LaBeur all shot 72s, with Jakub Slapal shooting a 73 and Joaquin Ali firing a 74.

Women’s Golf

         • Kennett, Mo., Sept. 18 — Returning to the course for the first time in 13 days, CBC played the first round of the Williams Baptist University Fall Invitational at the Kennett Country Club. CBC shot an opening round 342 to lead by 56 shots over Lyon. Individually, Alyssa Hagewood and Abby Kirby are tied for third after both shooting opening round 84s to put themselves seven shots off the lead. Laney Crutchfield and Thaylia Ramirez both shot 87s and are tied for seventh.
