Cornerstone Honors Pastor
By Shana Newsom
On Sunday, Sept. 29, Cornerstone Baptist Church in Arkadelphia will honor and celebrate the retirement of our beloved pastor, Larry Newsom, Sr., marking a remarkable 44 years of dedicated ministry. This special occasion is a tribute to a life devoted to the service of Christ and an invitation for family, friends and all those who have been touched by his ministry to join us in recognizing this significant milestone.
Bro. Larry began his preaching ministry as an associate pastor at Park Place Baptist Church in Little Rock (1980-1985). He then moved to Tulsa, Okla., to become the pastor of Bethany Baptist Church (1985-1988). Following his time in Tulsa, he pastored Sharon Rose Baptist Church in Malvern (1988-1990). In 1990, he answered the call to become a state missionary and relocated to Arkadelphia, where he has faithfully served as the pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church for the past 34 years.
Throughout his ministry, Bro. Larry has been more than a pastor. He has been a friend, mentor and devoted servant of God. We invite you to join us for this special celebration on Sept. 29 at Cornerstone Baptist Church. The celebration service will begin at 11 a.m., followed by a lunch fellowship.
We look forward to gathering with you to honor Bro. Larry and his wife, Carolyn, and to give thanks for their unwavering service to the Lord.
