JTC Needs Help with Hurricane Relief Efforts

By Mike Angus, Communications Director Just the Crumbs/BMA Disaster Relief Ministries

JTC/BMA disaster relief ministries are busy helping communities devastated by Hurricane Helene. Our first team arrived on Sept. 30, just outside Greenville, SC, and fed 600 people that day. We set up at a children’s home with about 100 children. When we arrived, it was their first hot meal in days. We began feeding and helping the surrounding community and volunteers who were removing trees and debris. We also partnered with a helicopter crew to fly supplies and hot meals to those stranded in the mountains due to highways and roads being washed out by flash floods. The search and rescue teams are still working in our area, so please pray for everyone involved. This team wrapped up things in South Carolina on Oct. 7 and set up in the Chimney Rock area of North Carolina on Oct. 8.

Our second team deployed on Tuesday, Oct. 1, in the Asheville, NC area. We were escorted in as search and rescue teams tried to clear houses and debris to find those still unaccounted for. Please join us in prayer for the many still missing as we minister to those on the ground and the search teams.

The third kitchen in North Carolina is set up in the Lake Lure area, where they send out meals and supplies. It is a hive of activity all day.

If you or your church group would like to assist us, we would love your help. This is a huge national disaster. The amount of need is overwhelming, but the support from faith-based organizations is incredible. We have committed to up to six months of help and humbly ask the BMA churches to consider partnering with us, as we can accomplish so much more with your help. The people we are serving are tired and worn down, and many don’t see any hope, but when you send us in, we can show them there is hope in Christ. We thank each of you who gives and supports us and makes it possible for us to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those in need.

If you would like to give, you can do so through PayPal at justthecrumbs21@gmail.com or Venmo @justthecrumbs. You can also mail contributions to BMA of Mississippi State Missions, 4226 Hwy 15 North, Laurel, Miss. 39440; BMAA Missions, PO Box 878, Conway, Ark. 72033 (be sure to label your check “JTC”); or mail directly to Just the Crumbs, 10 Wagon Trail, Sumrall, Miss. 39482.

If anyone wants to volunteer to come and work, bunkhouses and sleeping quarters will be available at all three locations in the very near future. Facilities for that are already in some of the locations. For more information, call (601) 441-4586 to volunteer and get assigned a place or contact me at bromikeangus@yahoo.com; (228) 669-1108.

Thank you for all you do to help us serve others. May God richly bless each of you. We thank God daily for each of our sister churches and our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Executive Editor’s Note: I spoke with a JTC about a possible response to Hurricane Milton, which is expected to hit Florida this week. They are monitoring the situation, and even though they have limited resources that are all being used in North Carolina right now, they will respond as the Lord leads and provides resources to do so.
