LIFEWORD: Featured Language - Garifuna
Around 120,000 people worldwide speak the Garifuna language. Most of the Garifuna people are located in Central America, but there are some smaller populations of Garifunas in New York City and Houston. In the early 1970s, David Dickson and his wife, Shelley, were elected to be BMA Missionaries in Central America. During their many years of service there, they met the Garifuna people and helped to start a work and ministry among them. Now, Lifeword has partnered with several Garifuna pastors and ministry workers to share the gospel in the heart language of the Garifuna people worldwide.

Pray With Us
Please join our US Lifeword Staff in praying for the following:
• Students and leaders were introduced to Follow, Lifeword’s digital discipleship portal, at SOAR this year. Would you pray for the Lord to use this tool to grow their understanding of who He is, deepen their desire to follow Him every day in their lives and encourage them to become disciple-makers? We are praying for a discipleship movement among our people!
• Pray for the partnership with Colombian, Venezuelan and Bolivian church plants in various dialects/languages in South America.
• Preparations are being made for Lifeword Sunday 2024! Pray that God would give us the resources to carry out His mission.
Join Executive Director of Lifeword Donny Parrish and Lifeword’s Director of Audience Engagement Yalanda Merrell on Lifeword Today on Facebook Live every Monday and Thursday at 9 a.m. Central Time as we discuss current events in our association and the world. Go to facebook.com/lifeword to join!
