Mount Vernon Brotherhood Meets
By Lance Madden, Reporter
The Mount Vernon Brotherhood met on Monday, Dec. 2, at Bethel Baptist Church in Forrest City for our quarterly meeting. The host church fed us a delicious meal, then Dexter Thorn led us in three congregational hymns, Lance Madden sang “For What Earthly Reason” and Joe and Rose Kemmer played a medley of hymns on the accordion and piano.
Marty Cantwell introduced Jake Norman, the pastor of First Baptist Church in Caldwell, as our speaker for the evening. He delivered a powerful and convicting message from Neh. 4:7-14 about our need to be watchmen who remain alert, resist discouragement and recognize our responsibility. We had 30 attendees representing 7 churches and collected an offering of $264 for Mt. Vernon BMA Missions. The next meeting of the Mt. Vernon Brotherhood will be Monday, March 3, at First, Caldwell at 6:30 p.m. Our goal for offering is Mt. Vernon BMA Missions. We encourage all men and boys in the Mt. Vernon BMA to join us as we enjoy food, fellowship and worship the Lord together. Come and be blessed!
