Retired BMA Pastor Dies
Thomas Edward Hall, 88 of Sulphur Springs, Texas, passed away Sept. 8. He was a BMA pastor for 58 years before retiring in 2011.
He graduated from seminary at Jacksonville Baptist College in 1956. He pastored eight churches during his ministry and, before moving to Texas in 1984, he pastored churches in Arkansas, including Central Baptist Church in Ashdown and First Baptist Church in Damascus, for 18 years. He retired in 2011 after pastoring Davis Street Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs, Texas for 18 years.
Survivors include: a son, David (Carol) Hall; three daughters, Jamie (Clarence) White, Kathryn (Michael) Harvick and Jodi Damesworth; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
Services are scheduled for Friday, Sept. 15 at 11 a.m. at Davis Street Baptist Church with Bobby Myers, Paul Gauntt, Jimmy Henry and Mark Thompson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home (murrayorwosky.com) in Sulphur Springs, Texas.
