STATE MISSIONS: Wishing Everyone a Very Merry Christmas
From Our Missionaries
Misión Creciendo en Cristo (Growing in Christ), North Little Rock: Juan Carlos Posadas writes, “We were very busy last week preparing to serve the community and church. Thursday morning, we collected donations from CityServe, and in the afternoon a friend church donated gifts to share with the children this Christmas.
“We are so grateful for the generosity of our mother church, Berean Baptist Church, who donated gifts for each of the mission children.
“I wish you could have seen the happy faces of the children who were surprised at the end of the Sunday meeting with gifts that had been carefully wrapped by the sisters of our church and Berean church.
“In our discipleship on Sunday morning, after we had studied the topics of salvation and baptism, Delmy, a member of the group said, ‘Now I do understand the gospel and baptism.’ We invited her to receive Christ and, at that very moment, she prayed for forgiveness for her sins and received Christ as her Lord and Savior. After her prayer, she expressed her desire to be baptized next weekend. Not only will she be baptized, so will Lemdyn, a young man who made his profession of faith two weeks ago in the same discipleship group. We thank God for the lives of Delmy and Lemdyn, who are growing spiritually.
“With all our hearts, we wish you a Merry Christmas and may the light of Jesus illuminate your lives.”
Ebenezer, West Little Rock: Ruben Isturiz writes, “It was a blessing to meet the youth of Ebenezer for our Christmas dinner. There were five who attended and five that were missing. Our goal for 2022 is to have a group of young people that reaches an average of 20.
“Of the young people who attend Ebenezer, the vast majority do not know the Bible. Our challenge is to present the gospel to them and for them to make their decision for Christ.
“The Berean Groups are on vacation for Christmas. We hope to resume in mid-January. Many have already gone on vacation and our attendance on Sundays has been lower than usual. We have been teaching about the true events of the first Christmas, remembering the birth of a Savior who is Christ the Lord. I thank God for each of those who read our weekly report and support us with prayers and offerings.
“May we, during this Christmas season, be grateful for that good news of salvation announced by angels more than 2,000 years ago. A Savior was born in the city of David. Merry Christmas! To God be the glory!”
Faith Chapel, Flippin: Johnny Shew writes, “We had a wonderful worship service Sunday morning! Our numbers were up, with two first-time visitors. One was the 12-year-old grandson of one of our members, and he joined right in. We treated him as if we had always known him and loved him. That evening, his grandmother said he really liked it and she’s pretty sure he will be back. Praise God!
“We were also blessed with a surprise. A few months ago, two of our members got COVID. The wife passed away, but the husband recovered after a lengthy illness. Due to his other medical issues, his family wanted him to move back to Oklahoma to be closer to them, which was understandable since that is where all of them are. We have been in contact but have not been able to see him. Sunday morning, he and his son surprised us and came to morning worship. What a wonderful blessing to be able to see him, worship Jesus with him and be able to say goodbye in person. Praise God!
“Oh, and Adam is thriving at John 3:16! Praise God again!
“Thank You for your prayers, for us, our members, Flippin and the community, and for Faith Chapel. Please continue, God is answering them!”
