The Master’s Builders Return to Flippin
By Nelda Malone, Reporter
The Master’s Builders began job #189 at Faith Chapel Baptist Church in Flippin on May 6. We returned to Flippin to help build classroom wings along each side of the sanctuary and fellowship hall. (The Builders also helped Johnny Shew on this new church building in April 2023.) The siding and the windows on each side of the sanctuary had to be removed, organized, stacked and made ready to be used again on the outside classroom walls. Once that task was completed, the framing could begin.
The two side wings contain the kitchen, bathrooms, classrooms, storage space and office space. The Builders were able to reinstall all the outer windows on both wings and set several doors. We had rain and storm warnings several times while working, but God blessed us in many ways, and the work continued. We are so thankful that Bro. Johnny, Darvin Barrett and several other men from Faith Chapel worked alongside our men every day. We also had our Haitian friend, Gesnick Metelia, come back to help on this job after working with us at Oak Ridge Baptist in Cassville, Mo., in April. He is very tall, strong and such a big help to the Master’s Builders! He has a sweet spirit and a willingness to work hard for the Lord.
Karen Shew and the ladies from Faith Chapel fed us wonderful meals each evening, and the men also helped one evening with a delicious fish fry — always a favorite with our group. Thank you to everyone in the Faith Chapel church family who were so kind and caring to us. The food and the fellowship were wonderful!
We were blessed once again to work alongside the great folks from Goodall Construction as they set the trusses and roofed the two new wings. We had the privilege of meeting and working with them on the sanctuary/fellowship hall built last April. Working with people who also love the Lord and are committed to His Kingdom is so good.
When I first started “reporting” on our jobs for The Master’s Builders, I was told, “Keep the articles short, or most people won’t take the time to read them.” But that is very difficult because there is so much that goes on that you would like to know, which is why we encourage you to follow us on Facebook. We now have a way to include everyone in each day’s work by sharing our progress with photos on Facebook. Rose Bittner does an excellent job with our Facebook page. So many pictures and so much more information are there for you to see and read. It’s almost like you are there with us! Just type in “The Master’s Builders” in the search bar, look for the arbor logo, “Like” the page and you’ll be connected.
Our next job began on June 3 in Brookeland, Texas, at Brookeland Baptist Church. If you are in the area, come by and visit us or jump right in and work with us. We’ll be glad to see you there!
