World Missions Day: 75 Years of Global Missions
BMA Global is excited to announce that World Missions Day is Sunday, Feb. 23! This year is especially significant as it marks the 75th anniversary of both the BMA and the sending of our first missionaries!
The Baptist Missionary Association (BMA) was formed in 1950, uniting around a common purpose — “We believe in Missions for all the World.” We sent our first missionaries that year, and we’ve continued to do so ever since. Who could have imagined that we would send over 300 missionaries and partner with thousands of ChangeMakers who have planted churches in more than 70 countries?
As an association, we have much to celebrate. Over the past 75 years, God has blessed the BMA and its work across the globe as many have proclaimed, “Send me!” We are deeply thankful for those who came before us and laid the foundation upon which we continue to build today.
We invite and encourage our BMA churches to participate in this celebration by registering for World Missions Day. More information can be found on our website, including ideas for how to celebrate, links to request materials such as posters and bulletin inserts, videos to share with your church, details about our missionaries and t-shirts available for purchase.
This year, we are also offering a special 75th-anniversary edition of Gleaner magazine, which honors all our past BMA missionaries and looks toward the future of BMA Global missions. Access these resources and information at bmaglobal.org/worldmissionsday.
