Arkansas Pro-Life Camp
Camp Joshua, Arkansas’ premier pro-life camp for students ages 13-19, is set for July 26-28 at CrossHeirs Retreat Center in Humphrey. The three-day camp is designed to train students to be effective pro-life leaders and covers all the basics of pro-life issues in classes and hands-on workshops. Students visit the state capitol, participate in interactive games, connect with pro-life leaders, enjoy great food and hang out with friends from around Arkansas at the secluded CrossHeirs Retreat Center on a 280-acre farm in Arkansas County.
“Camp Joshua is a great place for students to learn the basics of abortion, infanticide and euthanasia in a comfortable environment with experienced speakers,” said Rose Mimms, executive director of Arkansas Right to Life, which sponsors the camp. “Camp Joshua is a big hit with students, not only because it is informative, but features great food, fellowship and fun.”
Camp Joshua Coordinator Skylar Harper, 26, added “We are blessed to have such a powerful resource in Arkansas that connects pro-life teens from across the state and equips them on how to be pro-life advocates in their communities.”
Sessions include “Abortion 101,” by Dr. Richard Wyatt, “Pro-Life Persuasion” and “Abortion Alternatives” by Bonita Pratt, “Impact of Abortion” by Bruce and Janice Trice and “Euthanasia 101” by Monty Self.
The last session on Sunday afternoon will include a tour of the Arkansas State Capitol and a session on civic duty by Senator Ben Gilmore (R/Crossett) before the final commissioning ceremony at 3 p.m.
Mimms said registration for Camp Joshua is now open and space is limited to 25 students. Some scholarships are available for students who would like to apply.
