JOURNEY WITH JEFF: Encouraging Note
As I mentioned in my article last week, we have had a number of churches contact us over the last few weeks to cancel their church plans, and I shared the need for an increase in subscribers in order to keep the ministry of the Trumpet going. I received a note from a faithful reader and subscriber with his intention, even though he is on a fixed income, to start an “each one, win one” campaign for subscribers. He sent a check to renew his subscription ($39) plus enough for one additional subscription ($78 total) to help cover the cost of helping a church or someone who has limited assets. He also encouraged others to “take up the challenge” and do the same.
I am so thankful for each of our faithful readers, and it is a great blessing to get notes of encouragement and these special offerings at just the right time. Sometimes it can be a little discouraging when we have those canceling, but this week was a reminder that there are still those that understand the value and importance of the ministry of keeping our people informed through the Baptist Trumpet.
