STATE MISSIONS: Sharing

STATE MISSIONS: Sharing

It has been a great week. Sunday morning, Connection Point in Brookland (one of our former missions) celebrated its third anniversary. Seeing God’s work established in yet another community is a blessing. After lunch, I made a mad dash to Magnolia to attend the Columbia County local association. Another excellent time of fellowship and a second Baptist potluck in one day was like Heaven on Earth. The meeting was well attended, and again, we heard some good preaching and encouraging ...

STATE MISSION: “Whoever Has Ears to Hear, Let Them Hear” (Mark 4:9)

“And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake: And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. STATE MISSIONS: Lighthouses Save Lives

“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.  Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” (Matt. 5:14-16).       I will never forget, years ago, a person walked into our church service and took a seat. I could tell by his demeanor that he was ...

STATE MISSIONS: Counting My Blessings

STATE MISSIONS: Counting My Blessings

What a wonderful week I have had. Beginning Wednesday, Vicki and I headed to Jasper to a cabin with a great view to celebrate our 55th anniversary — time flies when you are having fun! After a few days of enjoying the Ozark Mountains, we went to Nashville to attend the Howard County Association meeting at Immanuel Baptist Church on Saturday.       What a special honor to be asked to bring the morning message.       Sunday morning, I was invited to Missionary Grove Baptist ...
