SPOTLIGHT ON MISSIONS: Siripong & Jessie Yaebeang • Thailand

         • Celebrating 10 Years in Thailand — June 23, 2014 was the day we came to begin serving in Thailand. That means we have been serving here for a decade! We were much younger then — I was only 28 years old then and Jessie was almost 25. Now we have three growing sons, and I will be 40 in less than two years!

      A lot has happened since we first came to do ministry in Thailand. In one sense, we have experienced so much that it’s hard to believe it has only been 10 years. It has been a busy but blessed time. For example, some of the stuff that has happened over the years include: met and ministered to thousands of people, three sons, five addresses, started a church, written a few books, (Jessie) learned Thai language, proclaimed the gospel to lots of people, preached hundreds of sermons, some people saved and baptized, finished a doctoral degree, traveled around 200,000 miles and so much more!

      However, our path from day one until now was not easy. We have had challenges, problems and obstacles along the way. We have also had days that are discouraging and lonely. As a matter of fact, out of our 10 years here, some of the hardest and most discouraging times have probably been within these past 10 months. But God’s grace is always sufficient in all circumstances, and how thankful we are for His presence.

      As we look back, God’s faithfulness and grace are clearer than anything else. One of the many ways God showed His faithfulness and grace is through many of you who have stood alongside us for one decade and counting! We express our deepest gratitude to all of you. Although we live so far away and rarely talk to or see you guys, you still haven’t stop praying for us, loving us and supporting us. We have said it before, but we cannot say it too often that our lives and ministry here would not be possible without people like you. Thank you very much!

      In the very first prayer card during the deputation, we gave you in 2014, we wrote this on the back:

      “God declared that ‘For from the rising of the sun even to its setting, My name will be great among the nations…’ (Mal. 1:11 ESV). God’s passion for His name to be known and the jealousy of His own glory is a theme that dominates the Bible. Our vision is to live in this passion of God. We desire to go back to my home country of Thailand, and to make His name known by proclaiming the gospel of God in the person and work of Jesus Christ for the joy of Thai people and ultimately for the glory of God. Please remember us and in your prayers. ‘For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen’ (Rom. 11:36).”

      That has been our mission these past 10 years — to make Him known — and it will continue to be.

      We are excited about our journey ahead and can’t wait to see what God has in store for us in the years to come! Please continue to pray for us and move forward with us. Blessings to you!

         • My Father’s Funeral — It has been several weeks since my father’s passing and we, of course, are still grieving. His funeral lasted six days (not counting two more days of cleaning up and putting things away). He was greatly loved by so many, and we estimated that 1,000 attended the services throughout the week. The two big boys and I got to help dig his grave, and I designed his tombstone and oversaw the construction. (The front is not finished yet.)

      Although it was hard to do, it was an honor to preach at his funeral, especially since most of the people who attended had never heard the gospel. I assured everyone about the certainly of death and judgment day and pleaded with them to run to Christ as their refuge.

      • 2024 Preaching Seminar — We will host our second preaching seminar Oct. 28-30, and it will be the first time we will do it under “Thai Expositor Ministries.” We would like to bless and encourage the Thai pastors by providing their meals and a place to stay during the seminar. If you and/or your church would like to help us and give specifically for “Thai Expositor Ministries,” you may send your gift to BMA Missions, P.O. Box 878, Conway, Ark. 72033; or give securely online at the BMA website at tiny.cc/Yaebeang.

      • New Edition of My Book — The second edition of a book I wrote in 2019 has recently been printed and is out now. It answers 200 important questions (broken down into eight categories) from a biblical perspective and is a useful resource for both believers and unbelievers.

         • Shooting New Videos — We recently shot new videos to share with churches/Christians in Thailand on the internet. This time, we recorded over 10 videos and covered several important subjects. At least one video per week will be released on our church YouTube channel. To see some of the videos we have done in the past, visit www.youtube.com/@NorthBangkokChurch/videos.

         • 11th Wedding Anniversary — On June 1, Jessie and I celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary! How thankful we are for God’s faithfulness throughout the years and all the journeys the Lord has been allowing to take. What an amazing gift from God to have Jessie in my life all these years!

      A lady from our church helped watched the kids so we could go out for dinner and spend some time alone — something we rarely get to do. We also took a one-day trip to take the kids to a nearby town to visit an aquarium and the zoo.

Prayer Requests

      We would sincerely appreciate you remembering these requests for us when you pray:

      • For my family and me as we grieve my dad’s passing;

      • For all of those who heard the gospel at my father’s funeral;

      • For the publisher as he finalizes different details on my book;

      • For us as we invite people to the preaching seminar and start to plan the details for this important event;

      • For several attendees at our church who either haven’t committed their lives to Christ or who aren’t yet serious about becoming the member;

      • For our members (especially the core group of men) that they will grow in the Lord in all aspects;

      • For us as we continue to look for a building for our church;

      • For Jessie and the big boys as they try to finish up the school year these next couple of months;

      • For strength, wisdom, boldness and humility as I continue to lead my family, shepherd the church, prepare for and preach the Word, write, share the gospel, train men, etc.

      Thank you for reading our updates, praying for us and supporting our us. We thank God for all of you! (thailand.forhisglory@hotmail.com)
